The Infamous Empire Photobooth

The Jameson Empire Awards is always a highlight of the year here at Boothnation. 2012 was no exception as our 'Empire Booth' once more played host to the worthy winners. Among the luminaries to jump in our booth were Michael Fassbender, Gary Oldman, Tim Burton and the wonderful Ron Howard. Pictures from the booth feature heavily in the June 2012 issue of Empire Magazine.

Starbucks get personal

Wednesday March 14th was a great day for coffee lovers. Starbucks coffee shops up and down the country were  giving away free tall lattes to promote their new way of personalising their service. They now write everyone’s name on their coffee instead of the type of coffee to ensure that everyone receives the perfect drink. They are also now adding an extra shot of 100% fairtrade espresso to all of their tall sized coffees. Boothnation created five branded Starbucks photobooths to add some fun and social media interaction to the experience. Our booths were in Aberdeen Union Square, Birmingham Bullring, Manchester St. Anns Square, New Look Oxford Street and Westfield Stratford. To see the Starbucks Facebook page click here.

Some mothers do ave em!

Mothers Day was extra special this year for those Mum's whose offspring visited one of the three Ugg Australia stores running one of our special message booths.  Knightsbridge, Westfield White City and Manchester  were the places to share the love throughout the week.  Special chalkboards were provided to  all the devoted sons and daughters. Love ya Mum!

Boothnation's director Seamus Ryan is a very busy man. Apart from all his booth and Pop Up Shoot activities Seamus has a full diary of advertising, editorial and theatre shoots. Weekends are devoted to the Sunday Shoots, an ongoing public portraiture project held in his Columbia Road studio. Recent shoots include campaigns for BUPA and the Co-Op Bank, Frank Skinner and Helen Skelton for Sport Relief, and Ade Edmondson for Readers Digest. Here are some links to his work:

Look Lively!

 Look Magazine's 5th birthday party at One Marylebone was, quite simply, a blast. Boothnation's other arm, Pop Up Shoots, had a great night shooting the happy gathering at play. To see more of the images from the celebration please click here.

Busy at the BAFTAs

A full weekend of celebrations at this year's Orange British Academy Film Awards. Boothnation's sparkling Glitterbooth entertained the guests at Lancôme's pre-Bafta party hosted by Emma Watson. Held at the Savoy, the event featured a photographic exhibition entitled 'Roses by..." which included photographs by Patrick Demarchelier and Nick Knight. We can't show you the pictures from the booth (they are stunning!) but here's one of Emma posing in front of the Glitterbooth. Dress by Valentino, hat by Boothnation.
Sunday was awards day and time for a Pop Up Shoot at the exclusive Orange Pre-BAFTA Party, also held at the Savoy. Guest were invited to  enjoy their moment in the spotlight in our luxurious Orange BAFTA themed set. Again, we can't release the images but here are Seamus and Nico's test shots to give you the idea. 
With all the awards safely handed out it was time to party into the night. Sponsored by Disaronno, the after party was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel. Boothnation's sleek booth with instant projection captured hundreds of great images on a night to remember.

The Art of Flight

Travis Rice, snowboarding's maverick superstar, features in a four page article in this month's Front Magazine (pictures courtesey of Boothnation). Our  Photostream was at the UK premier of 'The Art of Flight' at London's IMAX to record  snowboardings finest in 1940's aviator outfits. Images from the event were posted to Quicksilver's Facebook page.

Cosmopolitan's Ultimate Women Awards 2011

Cosmopolitan Magazine's January 2012 issue features a wonderful spread of images taken by Boothnation at the Ultimate Woman Awards at the Banqueting Hall in Whitehall. Among the luminaries to press the green button were Blondie,  Little Mix, Olly Mars, Kelly Rowland, Misha B, David Haye and Sophie Ellis-Baxtor. Congratulations to all the winners.

Christmas presence

A wildly busy and fun December at Boothnation with product launches and Christmas parties galore. Here are just a few of the clients we worked with over the last few weeks. Merry Christmas everybody!

Movember, discoballs and snowballs

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. The Movember Gala parties, held at the end of November, are simply hilarious, thousands of hairy upper lips dancing the night away. Boothnation has been part of the celebration for the last three years, capturing thousands of magnificent mo's. This year we will be at Battersea Evolution in London and the Electric Circus in Edinburgh. If you are wondering who that chap in the photos is we can reveal it's Mike O'Brien, our dashing operations manager and self confessed geek. He is posing and raising valuable funds for Movember in our brand new 'Discobooth' and the ever popular 'Snowbooth'. Thanks Mike. Now, please shave!

Coach Party

Fashion Fois Gras, home to everything newsworthy in the fashion world, have teamed up with Coach to launch what must be a world's first; the bloggers tote, a luxury bag designed with the discerning blogger in mind. Boothnation provided a fully branded photobooth to grace the store's New Bond Street window. To read more about the launch in Emily Johnston's own words please click here.

Stephen Kenny's Art Booth

Stephen Kenny's lovingly crafted letterpress prints were the catalyst for a lively few days at The Affordable Art Fair in Hampstead where all comers interacted with the art. Stephen is with Islington's renowned fine art gallery Tag Fine Arts on whose stand all the fun happened. All the images can be seen on Tag's Facebook page. Enjoy.

Chanel Allure

Chanel's launch of it's Rouge Allure Velvet range of matt lipsticks called for some innovation from Boothnation. We designed a chic black booth with matt panels and produced matt prints to mirror the brand. Customers enjoyed our booths in Selfridges, Westfield and Harvey Nichols.

Seamus Update

Some recent work from Boothnation's director Seamus Ryan to look out for. The latest Listerine Zero campaign is noteworthy for it's facial gymnasics. James Caan is part of a series of portraits for The Catalyst Club, a wonderful fund raising initiative for Cancer Research UK. The Co-Operative Bank campaign is running throughout the country.

Pop Art at Tiffany

Vogue Fashion Night Out just gets better and better. Our Warhol inspired Pop Art Photobooth glittered all night amongst the diamonds in Tiffany's flagship Old Bond Street store. Live projection of all  the images added extra sparkle to the queues of fashionistas lining up for their 15 minutes of fame.

Boothnation and Pop Up Shoots have so wildly busy there has been little time for the blog. Here's a fleeting catch up on some of the fun we've been having.

Hard Rock Calling's 40th Birthday bash in Hyde Park in late June was brought to a close by headline act Rod Stewart who wowed the crowds with all his classic songs. Other acts on stage included The Killers and Bon Jovi. Boothnation had a busy time backstage entertaining those lucky enough to get passes.







Karl Largerfield's creative prowess  is beyond question. To help with the launch of his limited edition Coca Cola bottle designs Boothnation’s branded Photostream with candy-striped prints launched the product to thirst quenched crowds in Manchester’s Harvey Nichols store.

Vintage Royal Acadamy

Charm, elegance and all the sophistication of a bygone era was in evidence at last night's vintage themed evening at the Royal Academy. Boothnation's classic booth nestled amongst the Summer Exhibition fine art to record the spirited assembly. Keep calm and carry on!

Mind Le Gap

Two wonderful retail promotions for our much loved clients Gap in our fully branded giant booths this Summer. The first was the Gap Summer Suitcase which heralded the start of the sunny season in their Oxford Street flagship store. The 1969 shoots, which took place in Gap stores in Paris and Milan, seamlessly involved customers in Gap's current campaign using all sorts of photo trickery.

Festive Spirit

Forget the recession, it's music festival season. Boothnation will be at Glastonbury this week with the wonderful Wateraid and at Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park with the Hard Rock Cafe.  Just can't wait!

Viva Model Agency London Launch

VIVA London, sister agency to the well established VIVA Paris, had it's launch in Shoreditch last night.  Photographer Scott Trindle exhibited his 'Untouched' shots of, among others, Natalia Vodianova, Raquel Zimmermann and Edie Campbell in a packed party at Rochelle School. Boothnation created a special 'model card' photobooth to capture all the pouts and poses.

Starry starry night!

Boothnation had a wonderful night assisting with the festivities at the Philips British Academy Television Awards. Among the glittering attendants were Steve Coogan, Brenda Blethyn,The Misfits, and Miranda. This was our first time as an official partner of BAFTA. Firstly, I would like to thank............

Rupert Grint White Magic

Boothnation's director Seamus Ryan's shoot with Harry Potter star Rupert Grint has just gone live and can now be seen on buses all over Britain. Rupert also created a memorable  set of shots in our booth at the Empire Film Awards.

Calvin Klein's Pop Up Shoot

Boothnation had a wonderful time helping out at Calvin Klein's  International Training Event  with a pop up fashion shoot. Held in Brick Lane's Truman Brewery, the three day event immersed staff in all aspects of the CK brand in a fun and interactive setting.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine UK Launch

Boothnation are half way through a nationwide tour helping to launch Chanel's Rouge Coco Shine lipstick range. Customers are invited to have a mini makeover before trying one of the 18 new shades of lipstick and recording the moment forever in our special Chanel booth. So far we've been to Liverpool, Sheffield, Southampton, Glasgow and London. Here are the remaining tour dates:

Madonna, Miu Miu and Boothnation.....

Along with models Ginta Lapina, Lindsey Wixson, Siri Tollerod and Daphne Groeneveld, Boothnation played a starring role in Madonna's directorial debut for the Miu Miu Winter ad campaign. According to legend Madonna had stopped by the set to meet photographers Mert Atlas and Marcus Pigott for dinner, and, as model Ginta  recalls, "We were supposed to shoot a video, so Madonna said she wanted to direct it. They said she could do it but they weren't going to pay her and she started laughing. She put on her iPod and taught us moves and we shot the video for two hours."
